Happy New Year!!
However that looks to you and from whatever position you happen to be reading this from, truly, I hope it finds you well and happy, or at least working towards that end.
Tonight I sit here with the dog snoring (and occasionally farting) beside me, the house quiet except for a punk version of Like A Prayer playing in the background. New year, no judging!
2016 was a tough year for a lot of people and there seems to be a pretty heavy sentiment that it just sucked! Well, yes and no. I can only speak for myself but 2015 was much harder, but don't get me wrong, last year had challenges as well but also some pretty great victories. I failed in work and in relationships and I also succeeded in friendships and travels and experiencing new things. Ebb and flow, up and down, yin and yang.
I'm choosing to put 2016 to bed on an upswing because I feel like things are moving the way they should, and I'm happy to announce a promotion that was confirmed on Friday and effective tomorrow. New year, new job!
I'm excited for this new chapter... it will be a challenge for sure but I'm up to it and it's been part of my inner plan for awhile now so yeah, once more I'll bend the universe in my favour and move towards my goals.
Don't think I'm sitting here getting a huge ego head or anything. As soon as I wrote that, Moxie farted on my arm soooooo...
Humility.
Anyway, my plan is to start up martial arts training tomorrow as well. I miss competing and I've always wanted to work my way to my black belt, and eventually beyond that, but for now... I'm really pumped to be back with those great people in that environment of challenge and personal growth. Hard but good.
All in all, 2017 has started off really well and my plans for this year are only going to make it an even better one. Time to take the reigns here, or as William Ernest Henley writes in Invictus - It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.
He writes it much better than I could... it's gonna be a good year, folks... dog farts and everything! Cheers!
