2 weeks later....

I have once again been remiss in my bloggerly duties. Much has kept me away from both my computer and my home these past days...or Fortnight, as it turns out. Hah.

  I am midweek through my vacation and today is designated as my official "Must-clean-house-from-top-to-bottom-or-die-trying" day. Its a 50/50 bet on whether I survive at this point... BUT... my bathroom looks amazing hah!
 Dishes are a'soakin, Laundry is being laundered, Bathroom is so spotless I may just pee in the kitchen sink from now on, haha.. Im kidding ... really. 

 Between going to the lake, off roading in Portage La Prairie every sunday, and running around looking for a beater to buy every day after work, I almost forgot what my apartment looked like.... but its ok, alot of my time has been spent with friends in from out of town as well, and its always awesome to catch up.  Just busy...
 So The lads found me an old truck that we can take off roading, and we will test her 'sea legs' on Sunday at Seddons Corner... its sandy, and overall alot less grueling than Sandy Hills was; Last sundays final bill of sale in the swamp was 5 tow ropes snapped, 2 trucks destroyed, one winch fried, 38 mosquito bites and 14 hours of mudding and driving.

 It was epic.

Before any cleaning of anything... Felt like a Hobbit.  My sandals were so caked with quicksand mud I couldnt fit my feet into them. That stuff hardens like concrete.

Ryan...he was sinking... by the end of it all he had showing were his Quads handlebars before he got a tow out.  Cody and the doomed jeep (pre-break) are here as well, and Daniel watching the show hah!



Two weekends ago, leaving the bogs after another successful Sandy Hills raid... no machines were harmed in this particular adventure...


Kayla and her Jeep.. she got the death wobble and flipped her jeep on the highway the next weekend, almost died..shes feeling much better now, but no offroading till Christmas at least, possibly the spring.


Its a tough job being a passenger/cameraman. Haha..

Cody's jeep... snapped the bearing, brake line, axle... she broke..she broke haaaard.  We had to leave her out there, but she was taken out the next day.



  So there you have it.  Just a small dose of what I have been up to, as I neglect my writing duties of late.. it IS finally summer after all, and the tanned me is coming along nicely.
 The weeks end will have me working more on my truck. Yesterday we fixed the power windows (they refused to roll down) and the AC (thank god for Freon)... I had neither AC nor windows..so driving around this week has been murder. Got my speakers working again as well.  Not bad for 2 hours of work I guess.  Saturday afternoon will be shopping at wreckers for a few parts I need, and replacing the U Joints on the front end.. Im worried about crushing them, they are in bad shape as it is... Seddons sandy hills and my driving.. I need the new U Joints in there haha...
  Interesting new hobby I have picked up.. its good too, I really needed something to keep me occupied...sitting at home and blogging/watching tv/playing vids just isnt the way to spend your days... now and then is ok ;-)

  ok.. As the Concords song playing right now tells me...Its Business Time!

Blogwork is Homework is Good Work

 Hello, Gentle Reader,    This blog has always been my way of sharpening my writing chops, or shaking off the rust of my laziness and trying to find my 'voice', as it were, online.  I know, Gentle Reader, that you often do not give feedback, and thats ok.  This space isn't meant as an ego-reach and any and all feedback regarding my posts is appreciated, often more than you might guess, but thats not why I write here.     Most of my drive and reasoning is the simple act of it.  Writing is healthy for the soul and great practice more than anything else, the more practice you put in, the better at it you get... or at least that's what I keep incessantly telling myself, forever hopeful that I am in fact getting 'better' as a writer, whatever that actually means.  I suppose my ability to project my voice comes down to you, Gentle Reader.  I hope you hear me and I am able to project the visuals and a sense of where I am, figuratively as w...

Fuck this place, I’m out…

I grew up poor.  Really poor. To steal a line from Chris Rock, we grew up so poor we couldn’t afford the O R at the end of the word, we were just PO. hahaha. Still accurate. But my childhood poverty isn’t the point of this post.
