The Black Keys?

Been on a bender for the Black Keys.... what a solid band, and their videos are pretty damn hilarious! Love it!

Been rockin out the Scrabble on Facebook with my younger brother... he kicked the ever loving crap outta me, now its time for some justified payback!  The goings a bit slow as we arent on at the same times, but its moving along nicely, and I finally have a half decent lead....knock on wood hah!

  Just a report in for now, not too much shakin in my world, just getting hammered hard at work... The past week was a real bruiser and Im feeling a bit sickly after the marathon, but will play it by ear.

  Been working on writing...with a pen and everything! Hah, I love tech, but theres something that just feels right about a page full of my goofy scrawlings and scratched out thoughts, rewritten and scratched out again.   It just seems to fit, and it all tumbles out of me like it's been sitting there the whole time, like a dog waiting for its owner to get home.

  I'm happy to be writing, even if it's just my 'epic novel' that may never go anywhere.  It feels right to be hashing out my characters and working on backstory and bringing the world into focus.  I think I want to write present day stuff as well..but I see that as being a bit more exhausting..I can't just make anything up I want, in any environment.. but whatever.. I have ideas!
  It was hard for me to stop writing tonight....and THAT is something I haven't felt in a very long time. It was a good feeling.

  So here I be, giving everyone a quick update.... My brain aches from learning too much too fast, and being stupidly busy all the time at work, but I'm trying to build some de-stressing routines. Will make Martial Arts a part of my regular routine, as well as the writing. Soon the time for hitting the books and studying once again will be on me, and will need to clamp down on the free time.  Such is life.....

Blogwork is Homework is Good Work

 Hello, Gentle Reader,    This blog has always been my way of sharpening my writing chops, or shaking off the rust of my laziness and trying to find my 'voice', as it were, online.  I know, Gentle Reader, that you often do not give feedback, and thats ok.  This space isn't meant as an ego-reach and any and all feedback regarding my posts is appreciated, often more than you might guess, but thats not why I write here.     Most of my drive and reasoning is the simple act of it.  Writing is healthy for the soul and great practice more than anything else, the more practice you put in, the better at it you get... or at least that's what I keep incessantly telling myself, forever hopeful that I am in fact getting 'better' as a writer, whatever that actually means.  I suppose my ability to project my voice comes down to you, Gentle Reader.  I hope you hear me and I am able to project the visuals and a sense of where I am, figuratively as w...

Fuck this place, I’m out…

I grew up poor.  Really poor. To steal a line from Chris Rock, we grew up so poor we couldn’t afford the O R at the end of the word, we were just PO. hahaha. Still accurate. But my childhood poverty isn’t the point of this post. I mention it because growing up I had to watch all my friends going on family vacations to Disneyland and the Phillipines and Mexico and wherever their families were in the world while I roamed my asphalt jungle like a half wild animal in a cage.   I always vowed that I would see the world someday.
