"...there's still some living left when your prime comes and goes."

Ah, the wise words of Jimmy Eat World. As a belated birthday gift I was invited to the recent show here in the city, and yes...they kicked multiple layers of ass!! I was very impressed with the live presence and the solid sound they had, it was a great gift from a fellow J.E.W. lover... thats the band, not the race I am speaking of...not that there is anything wrong with Jews mind you... I love my Jewish friends too....
...and now I dig myself deeper.

Moving right along...
For a writing blog, there really isn't much happening in that department, and I only wish I could find more time to visit and spew out my creative 'genius' *wink wink* I'm allowed to call it genius, the rest of you all...well I will leave it up to interpretation.

It's funny (UH OH, not HA HA) that whenever I feel like writing I have tons of ideas and thoughts to put down, and once I am here.. it all drains away like water in a desert. Some days it is just like that, no help for it.

Today I awoke to the sweet sounds of thunder, and I always like waking up to that, even though it is a precurser to a rainy day....I just like the sounds that the Earth can make. Reminds me of how big it is and how small I am in it...sometimes we need the reality check.

july, best month ever... special person's birthday was not too long ago and although I could not be there to celebrate, I was in heart and spirit, and thinking happy thoughts! As well us Canadians cleared off yet another Canada Day celebration on the first, and that was a great time of free concerts, free fireworks, and good laughs with friends. theres something amazing about watching toddlers see fireworks for the first time.. that total excitement... it was very cool.
Soon to come, Batman movie, for all of you uberdorks out there in Bloggerland!! I may not get to see it on the first night, but there MAY be a sneaky way to get me in ... otherwise I will have to wait probably till next week. Patience is a virtue.. I keep telling myself as much.

Computer is now offline indefinitely due to Trojan horses... yes.. I gots me some viruses! Cant seem to clear em so I gotta take the whole thing down for its 'shots'. Bleaugh... I hate having to give up on it, but I fear I am doing more damage than help as it is... so alas, my video game borrowing from teh ole interweb is now on perma-hold. I will survive... its summer outside, and theres tons that need doing in the world before winter lays its grip firmly on our necks once again.

man.. I am reading this crazy huge and crazy long series by Robert Jordan, once again teh dorks will know and understand... I tried reading it all when I was a younger lad but it was getting too political by the 6th book...and now as a more 'mature' reader I am near the same spot and I feel I can get through it this time around. I sure hope so...the series is 12 books long. :-/
I really enjoy reading on my deck or by the pool in the sun... its where most of my "free" time goes....free time usually means sacrificing time sleeping or at Tae Kwon Do or some other activity with my friends that I should be doing, but sometimes... you just need to focus in and not out all the time.

...and I love reading. More than video games.... shhhhh... don't tell anyone.. *looking around in paranoia*.

Been mountain biking as well. Went to my gym which is almost right across town, and it took me a shocking 45 minutes to get there (when it takes me 30 minutes to get there by car....speeding...erratically) but of course, after almost 3 hours of working out and martial arts...it DID take me 2 hours to get home after... with a detour. two actually.
I like biking, but have forgotten how insane drivers can be in town...and the cruelty of screaming at a biker as the car flashes past going about 80.. its just not funny at all, ya morons.
I need a helmet I think.

With everything getting horrifically expensive.. I find myself trying to cost save as much as possible with biking and cutting corners on all the extras in my life. Cell phone plan is cheaper and bare bones, Groceries... for all I try to do, I cant make my bill get lower.. since working out more, I eat WAY more.. its abit of a dilemma, although maintaining my bill for food with eating more maybe speaks for itself. Not driving the car nearly as much as I ever did before. No day tripping to the lake sadly this year. No extra trips with friends anywhere out of town...that hurts...since all of a sudden everyone is clamoring for me to go with them all over the place. Its like they know I am broke!

Meh, life is still good. I enjoy the little things still... how I feel after a hard workout, sitting and reading a book with music in my ears, the feel of water as I swim in our lukewarm pool... lukewarm not from the sun I figure..but from all the crazy kids peeing happily in it. :-/
Hanging out with friends and just relaxing on a patio or a friends deck or just strolling around... I really realize how hectic life went and got and I also realize I dont particularly enjoy that. Slowing down is hard to do, but quality of life certainly shoots up. Its a virtue I think... like Patience!

And lastly... I am told, once again, that I look/sound like Ross from Friends. I though I got rid og that pasky nickname, but now its elsewhere with different people...notably the roomates, who i cant easily kill to get rid of the nickname :-P

Anyway, Im off to...what else, read my book and relax. Tomorrow is work, going for a long run and if I am lucky, seeing Batman after my shift.... fingers crossed!
