Martian summer?

So being the uberdork that I am, I found a link to the Martian Weather. It's embedded right in the regular weather website... so yes, I float on the weather websites. And now the Martian weather sites.
Don't ask me how I came to be like this, just accept it and move on.

BUT, aside from this first week or normal summertime weather, it really has not been a great year but I find that Mars isnt faring much better. They are ranging from -80 to -30 celcius each day, but I have to admit that it's a bit surreal to know that it's a sunny day out there, or sun with dust clouds... I love technology, it's the new magic. And so much damned fun!!

That being said... I have cleared myself some vacation back in May. Was nice to visit with some family I never get to spend time with, and just to get away from my life for a week. Sometimes you just need to unplug and walk away from things for awhile, even if it's only to appreciate it all once you reconnect.

I have fought, and won! Medals have come to me, and injuries as well. I have flown and it wasn't as much fun and excitement as I had hoped for... as well as just the regular discomfort of travel. I have limped my way from one place to another and now I realize I am simply burnt out.
The training regime, the work schedule, the social life-juggling. I'm all used up. Sleep is really my best friend these days and thats a sad realization, but hey, it could be alot worse.

Looking forward to a better summer than Mars, moving forward. Aside from the weather, I have had few complaints about this year.
It's nice to feel a level of quiet on the inside, and to be comfortable in one's own skin for a change. I think I finally like me.

Blogwork is Homework is Good Work

 Hello, Gentle Reader,    This blog has always been my way of sharpening my writing chops, or shaking off the rust of my laziness and trying to find my 'voice', as it were, online.  I know, Gentle Reader, that you often do not give feedback, and thats ok.  This space isn't meant as an ego-reach and any and all feedback regarding my posts is appreciated, often more than you might guess, but thats not why I write here.     Most of my drive and reasoning is the simple act of it.  Writing is healthy for the soul and great practice more than anything else, the more practice you put in, the better at it you get... or at least that's what I keep incessantly telling myself, forever hopeful that I am in fact getting 'better' as a writer, whatever that actually means.  I suppose my ability to project my voice comes down to you, Gentle Reader.  I hope you hear me and I am able to project the visuals and a sense of where I am, figuratively as w...

Fuck this place, I’m out…

I grew up poor.  Really poor. To steal a line from Chris Rock, we grew up so poor we couldn’t afford the O R at the end of the word, we were just PO. hahaha. Still accurate. But my childhood poverty isn’t the point of this post.
