Dating in your 30's.....

Dating in your Thirties... I've been thinking more and more about this activity as time goes on, and I figured, what the hell.... let's address this. As someone on the ass end of the dirty thirties now, I have noticed that dating has only gotten harder, at least for me. More and more it seems like the stories are all the same, the personalities are all ones you have seen and/or possibly dated somewhere in the past, and really, the crazy ratio seems to be getting higher. My personal rule for women is this; 25%. 25% of the time a woman can be crazy and wild and moody.... anything exceeding this rough percentage is simply too much for my patience to bear, and I need to bail. Now! Not to say you cant be as crazy as you please, as often as you want, ladies.. by all means... do as you will, just scratch my name off the walls of your insane 'to do lists' of the mind. I simply don't care to get involved in that anymore. Life is just too damn shor...

Mexican Americans don't like to just get into gang fights, they like flowers and music and white girls named Debbie too. Mexican Americans are named Chata and Chella and chemma and have a son in law named jeff. Mexican Americans don't like to get up early in the morning but they have to so they do it real slow. Mexican Americans love education so they go to night school and take spanish and get a B. Mexican Americans love their Nana's and their Nono's and their Nina's and their Nino's........ Nano Nano Nina Nono! Mexican Americans don't like to go to the movies where the dude has to wear contact lenses to make his blue eyes brown cause don't it make my brown eyes blue..... "And thats all i got, how do ya like it?"
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods; There is a rapture on the lonely shore; There is society, where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and the music in its roar; I love not the man the less, but Nature more... -Lord Byron More and more, my heart is turning to this direction. Solitude, quiet, nature. Every day I struggle more and more with city life, and my 'personal action plan' will hopefully get me one step closer to my goal.... This quote is the intro to a fantastic movie, "Into The Wild"... Such a good movie, and based on actual events. A guy just has enough and decides to trek out to the furthest wilds.... inspiring! Also Eddie Vedder, my personal musical hero, does all the music....

New Stuff

I've been away much too long. There have been all sorts of new stuff to fully occupy my magpie like attention though... Foooooor Example! -Exam in a month (So studying) -New place to live -New opportunity for music ... possibly? -Vacation in an interesting manner. Hiking, camping, and roughing it out in the back country. Not exciting to most folks, but a definite must for me. -New contacts... old eyes. -New outlook on life. Namely accepting the single life and enjoying it. Did some dating here and there only to discover what I already knew... women are scary. -New life plan. So there has been a whirlwind of events for myself as well as the people all around me. My wonderful sister gave birth to a little boy on my birthday of all days!!! Best gift ever! Brother seems to be doing excellent in his life, wont give details as its not my story to tell, but life is giving him some good things, and Im happy for him. I'll keep this one sho...

Songs Stuck In Your Head...

Image
Ok, so it's happened to us all at some point or another, and for some of us, it happens quite a bit more than others... So we can all relate to the obsessiveness of trying to release the music locked in your brain.... The Worst...the absolute worst... has been a song stuck in my mind for 20 years. ... ... ... Yes, you read that right. I remembered the chorus and the song title but not even the glory of the 'inertweb' (Its spelled right, trust me) could unlock the secrets stuck inside of me. All I really remembered about it was that it was about child abuse, it was canadian, and I was watching the video with my best mate (Who subsequently bailed my ass out of this quandray last night), and thats all I had.. but now and then, at random times this song, specifically the chorus, would inevitably roll back into my head and torment me for a day or two, or a week.. or a month. Its happened. More than once. So maybe you understand my complete focus ...

Highbrow society and what happens at their dinner tables

"I've always had this deep fear of getting my dick bitten off when swimming in a lake or ocean" - earls dinner conversation a la Ryan.

J
I've Been watching the 27/7 HBO Documentary series that follows two hockey teams for about a month during the middle of the regular season, and two things caught my attention almost immediately. 1) Their music selections were pretty rad, and the behind the scenes of hockey is interesting, and Im glad I watched it to get that insiders view. This song is not on the Documentary, BUT its from a band that is. M83 plays a song called Midnight City for the series which is very cool, but this song, Wait, is another of theirs that I enjoy. Slow Crescendos = awesome! Enjoy!
